Privacy Policy
Who We Are
PodFerry (www.podferry.com) provides a podcast synchronisation service implementing the open-source gPodder.net protocol. This policy explains how we collect and use personal data when you use PodFerry.
Data We Collect
When you register and use PodFerry we collect and store:
- Your email address and username, used to create and identify your account.
- A hashed password; the original password is never stored in plain text.
- Your podcast subscriptions, episode listening positions, and device names that you choose to synchronise through the service.
- Support messages you send through the contact form, including the email address you provide in that form.
- Technical log entries (application events) used solely for diagnosing errors and maintaining service stability. These do not include personal usage data beyond what is necessary for fault isolation.
Why We Process Your Data
We process your personal data to:
- Provide the podcast synchronisation service you signed up for (contract performance).
- Respond to support requests you submit (legitimate interest).
- Maintain the security and integrity of the service (legitimate interest).
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your email, username, password hash, and all associated podcast data are permanently removed. Support messages are retained for a reasonable period to allow follow-up on open requests.
Sharing Your Data
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. During registration, your browser communicates with Google reCAPTCHA to verify that you are not a bot; this is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies necessary for the service to function — primarily to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. See our cookie notice for details.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data (available directly from your account settings).
